Passivhaus project

19 and 21 Recreation Road, Sandiacre

19 and 21 Recreation Road, Sandiacre, Nottingham

Architect: Halsall Lloyd Partnership Architects

Description: Westleigh Partnerships constructed a 40 unit housing estate at Town Street, Sandiacre for housing Association EMH Homes.  Two of the pairs of semi-detached properties where certified including 19 and 21 Recreation Road.  Timber frame construction and simple in form.

Services provided: Steven undertook Passivhaus consultancy through design and construction stages.  And upon completion he gained certification as a Passivhaus designer.  The project documentation is available to download.

Steven CoulstingThirty years of professional experience in architecture.  Always ecologically orientated at heart.  Currently employed as architect and building physicist, working on multi-million pound projects in London.  These include volumetric modular rooftop extensions.  Passivhaus projects; including traditional timber frame, insulated concrete formwork and volumetric modular light gauge steel.  Large-scale retrofit to Passivhaus standard.  Energy options low carbon consultancy for individual householders.  Twenty years’ experience as conservation architect working on a range of UK Grade I listed buildings.  Passivhaus certified designer, qualified ARB registered architect and BSc in physics and environmental sciences.
