Description: Westleigh Partnerships constructed a 40 unit housing estate at Town Street, Sandiacre for housing Association EMH Homes. Two of the pairs of semi-detached properties where certified including 19 and 21 Recreation Road. Timber frame construction and simple in form.
Services provided: Steven undertook Passivhaus consultancy through design and construction stages. And upon completion he gained certification as a Passivhaus designer. The project documentation is available to download.

Thirty five years of professional experience in architecture and low energy design. Always ecologically orientated at heart. Steven has worked for conservation architects, Rodney Melville and Partners; low energy consultants, Encraft; modern methods of construction architectural company, The Design Buro and sustainably led engineers, Qoda. Now working for himself as One Planet Architecture. He is an accredited Passivhaus certifier, Passivhaus designer, AECB certifier and consultant. He originally studied physics and environmental sciences and subsequently qualified as an ARB registered architect. Thereby he has experience in both new build and retrofit, modern construction and traditional materials aided by an understanding of the physics of buildings.
